NetEase opens refund channel for Blizzard game players

Feb.2 (NBD) — On February 1, the NetEase Blizzard game customer service team released a statement about the refund policy for Blizzard game products that have reached their end of operation.

On January 24, most Blizzard games went offline in China. After iling to reach a deal with publishing partner NetEase, Blizzard has shuttered most of its games in the country, including World of Warcraft, Overwatch 2, and Diablo. (Diablo Immortal remains unaffected, distributed through a separate publishing deal with NetEase.)

The closure comes after reports that Blizzard tried to extend the current deal by six months to keep games in players’ hands while it shopped for a new publishing partner. According to a post on Blizzard’s Weiboaccount, the company said NetEase rejected the extension deal.

The deadline to submit a refund request is June 30th, 2023.

Starting on February 1st, 2023 at 11:00 AM, the refund channel will be open for players who have charged but not consumed virtual currency or unexpired game services in Blizzard game products.
