Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Chinas Dongfeng Motor Corp. and Japans Honda Motor Co., has issued recalls for 6,493 Elysion models due to hatch defects, according to Chinas market regulator.
The Wuhan-based carmaker will replace the defective parts free of charge.
A riveting defect may lead hatch struts to break off suddenly, posing potential safety hazards, according to the administration.

The recall began on April 2, involving select Elysion multi-purpose vehicles manuctured between Oct. 12, 2021 and Feb. 26, 2022, according to the State Administration for Market Regulation.
